Charles High

October 20, 1971 — February 17, 2026

Charles L. High was born on October 20, 1971, in Chicago,

Illinois, to Flora High and Arrington Walther High.

He attended Charles Darwin Elementary School and later pursued vocational training in driving, earning his Commercial Driver's License (CDL). Charles worked as a professional driver for several years before transitioning into forklift driving, where he continued to apply his skills and strong work ethic.

Though reserved in nature, Charles was known for his wonderful sense of humor and his gift in the kitchen, proudly considered the best cook among his siblings. He had a deep love for stargazing and seemed to know every star in the night sky. His siblings fondly remember him sitting on the roof of their childhood home, pointing out constellations and sharing stories about the stars.

Charles also had a passion for cars. He had an incredible eye for detail and could identify a car's make and model just by noticing small features, like the shape of its taillights.

Charles is survived by his loving and caring siblings; Lisa High Pickering and Arron High. Nieces; Ashley T. Mathis-Diemintas (Darius Diemintas), Angelica Martinez, and Zariah Symone Pickering; along with many loving and wonderful cousins who will forever hold him in their hearts.

He was preceded in death by his Parents, brother, Thomas Lee

High, and his nephew, Zion Sammuel Pickering.
