Elaine Burier was born on March 22, 1954 in Chicago, Ilinois to proud parents James and Sadie Mikell. At an early age, Elaine accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior establishing her lifelong faith. Her belief in God enabled her to move through every season of her life with grace.

Elaine was educated in the Chicago Public School System and graduated from Lucy Flowers Vocational High School. Her caring nature and desire to serve others inspired her to become a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA).

Elaine was a loving mother of two sets of twin sons. Her sons, Johnny and Johnathan, preceded her in death. She leaves behind her beloved sons, Marrio Sr. and Markus, who will forever cherish her love, guidance and treasured memories.

Elaine was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and, aunt whose life was defined by unconditional love, kindness, and an unwavering commitment to her family. They were her greatest joy, and she treasured every moment spent with those she loved.

Elaine shared an exceptionally close bond with her beloved mother, Sadie. Before her mother's passing, the two shared countless conversations talking, laughing and creating cherished memories Elaine held close to her heart. The moments with her mom and raising her sons remained among life's greatest blessings to her. When she wasn't caring and spending time with her sons, Elaine also found joy in life's simple pleasures, she enjoyed a good cup of coffee and relaxing watching her favorite game shows. It was during these quiet moments in which she embraced the beauty in everyday life.

She leaves to honor her memory her sons, Marrio Butler Sr. (fiancé Tamesha) and Markus Butler. She was a proud and loving grandmother to her eleven grandchildren: Johnny Butler III, Deonta Jones, Jonathan Butler, Ja'Quan Butler, A'Johna King, Johniqua Butler, Felicia Hernandez, Jakee Butler, Janiya Butler, Janae Butler and Marrio Butler Jr.

She was also blessed with eight great-grandchildren: Johnny Butler IV., Ja Quan Butler )r., Maurice Thomas, Malaya Thomas, Narmere Thomas, Jionni Butler, Jayce Butler, Jaycen Butler. She is also survived by her three siblings Eve Davis, Debra Davis, Aalim Muhammad (Lena), along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, special loved ones, and dear friends to hold memories of her in their hearts.

She was preceded in death by her parents Sadie and James Mikell, her siblings Rex Davis, Leo Jenkins, Angela Mikell, Chester Mikell and, Aaron Wilson.

Though Elaine's physical presence will be deeply missed; her love, warmth and spirit will live on in the hearts of those who were blessed to know her. Her legacy reflects family. As we celebrate Elaine's life, we find comfort in the beautiful memories she leaves behind, values she instilled, and unwavering faith which she carried throughout every chapter of her life. Her love will continue to inspire those who loved her.

Elaine will be remembered always, eternally treasured, and loved beyond measure.
