Eugene Logan Williams

IN LOVING MEMORY OF EUGENE LOGAN WILLIAMS

Eugene Logan Williams was born on August 28, 1959, to the late Eleanor Logan and Eugene Logan. Raised with the values of hard work, perseverance, respect, and faith, he carried these principles throughout his life. He was preceded in death by his parents and his nephew, Kenny Walker.

He leaves to cherish his memory his son, Eugene Logan III; his sisters, Cherita (Bill) and Jecquita; his brother, Anthony (Myrna); his nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, extended family, and many friends.

He also leaves three men he considered brothers—Ron Page, Donald Alexander, and Marvin Adams —and his beloved godmother, Josie Adams.

Eugene shared a deep and loving bond with the love of his life, Rita Ison.

To his first niece, Vanity, and first nephew, Tyrone, Eugene was more than an uncle-he was Dad. He guided and protected them with unwavering love, leaving them with lifelong memories and lessons.

Eugene discovered his passion for construction at fourteen while helping his Uncle Willie build a house. That moment sparked a lifelong career as a skilled construction professional and exceptional electrician. Known for excellence, honesty, and attention to detail, he earned the respect of coworkers and mentored many with patience and generosity. He was deeply committed to his community and civically active under the leadership of Congressman Danny K. Davis, whom he admired greatly. Eugene valued public service, encouraged others to stay informed, and believed every voice mattered

Eugene also loved bringing people together through food —especially his award-winning ribs and perfectly smoked turkey. Cooking was his way of sharing love and creating memories. He lived with a kind heart, generous spirit, and strong faith in God. He encouraged others to trust God, keep the faith, and believe in second chances. His compassion, wisdom, and willingness to listen without judgment touched countless lives. Eugene often said, "God is the best planner if you're willing to listen," and he lived by those words daily.

Whether mentoring on a job site, serving his community, cooking for loved ones, or offering encouragement, Eugene lived with purpose, integrity, and joy. His life was a testimony of faith in action. He leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, leadership, and hope that will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

His legacy will never be forgotten.
