Gertrude Dunlap was born April 8, 1945 in Friar’s Point, Mississippi to John and Flora Lee Anderson.

Gertrude was educated in School District 189 in East Saint Louis, Illinois.

Gertrude was a loving, humble, caring person that took everybody in. She was also sassy with a no non sense personality.

Gertrude knew Christ at an early age. She was a member of Mount Sinai Baptist church in East Saint Louis, IL where she was under the leadership of Rev White. Gertrude became a member of Home of Life Missionary Baptist Church in the early 1990’s. She was one of the Pastoral Nurses for Pastor Johnny Henderson Sr and she was also a member of the Pastor’s Aides for a time. Gertrude was a dedicated and faithful member of Home of Life Missionary Baptist Church until her call home.

Gertrude retired from Avon Products in Morton Grove, Illinois June of 2010 as a Material Handler, where she developed lifelong friendships.

Gertrude was preceded in death by her parents John and Flora Lee Anderson, Sister; Flora Wilson(Thurman), Brother; Harvey Anderson.

Gertrude leaves to cherish her memories: Daughters: Deneen Anderson, Sonja Dunlap, Dawne Blakemore(Demoyne); Sister, Ruth Mayes(Belleville, Illinois); Brother, Henry Anderson(East Saint Louis, Illinois); Grand Children: Kieva, Kiana, Teasha, Faith, Terry, and Arielle; Great Grand Children: Kailani, Kaysen, Karis; Special Nieces and Nephews: Ernesto Wilson(Natalie), Angela Brown(Thomas), Mario Mayes, Cordayle Coffman; Great Nieces and Nephews: Periana, Darrius, Deja, Demari
