Helen Jenkins, lovingly known as "Boozie," was born on March 6, 195, in Yazoo City, Mississippi to
Johnny and Mary Cooper. She peacefully departed this life on April 25, 2026, at the age of 75 in Chicago.
Helen accepted Christ into her life and carried her faith with strength throughout the years. She was a strong-willed, lively, and fun-loving woman who brought joy and laughter to everyone around her.
Helen had a love for dancing, fishing, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. In her younger years, she proudly participated in a motorcycle club and enjoyed living life to the fullest.
Helen dedicated over 15 years of service as a Homecare CNA, caring for others with compassion and kindness. One of her greatest joys in life was her daughter. She loved dressing her up, doing her hair, and taking her everywhere with her, creating memories that will forever be cherished.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents, Johnny and Mary Cooper; her husband, Phillip Jenkins, whom she married on October 10, 1967; and her siblings, Sally, Laura, and Johnny.
She leaves to cherish her memory her loving daughter, Linda Marie Anderson and spouse David; her beloved grandchildren, Donnavan Anderson (Revellia), Devin Anderson (Kelsi), Deion Anderson (Kiara), and Drew Anderson; and her treasured great-grandchildren, McKenzie, Nehmir, Madison, and Navi.
Helen also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who loved her dearly. She held a special bond with her nieces Millison Cooper, Bessie Sykes, and Tiny Cooper.
Helen's loving spirit, warm smile, and unforgettable personality will remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. Her favorite scripture, Psalm 121, reminded her to always look to the Lord for strength and guidance.
"I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help."
- Psalm 121:1
She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
