Kathryn Mae Holmes Williams was born in Chicago, Ilinois on September 24, 1948, to the late James Holmes Sr. and Lillie Mae Holmes who preceded her in death, as well as her daughter, April Williams; brothers James Holmes and Curtis Holmes, sisters; Mary Alice Hardy and Mildred Holmes. Kathryn departed this life on Sunday, May 10, 2026.

Kathryn attended Manley High School in Chicago, Illinois, and dedicated many fulfilling years of her career to Northern Trust Bank.

Kathryn was a devoted mother, sister and a friend to many. She loved the Lord. Kathryn joined Mount Victory Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Charles Williams Jr. She later joined Unity Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Charles Wiliams.

Kathryn was a kind, generous, and loving person, known for her caring heart and her willingness to always lend a helping hand to others. She had a wonderful passion for fashion, often enjoying dressing in stylish attire and her signature high heels.

Kathryn found joy in life's simple pleasures—shopping, hosting yard sales, playing cards, and listening to "Dusties," which brought her comfort and happiness.

She leaves to cherish her many fond memories: Deacon Larry who she faithfully devoted 1o years of her life to, one daughter, Vanessa Williams-Anderson (Dwight); two sons, Charles Williams Jr. (Teonna), and Gary Williams (Birgetta), Grandchildren; Laporsha, Candice, Shakia, Kiara, Akia, Divonte, Gary Jr., Kaitlyn, Shaila, Heaven, Charles III. Six brothers:

Melvin, Charles (Linda), Michael, Anthony (Darlett), Gregory and Darryl. Four sisters:

Linda (Renee), Shirley, Veronica, and Barbara Jean. A host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many relatives in Chicago and Greenville, South Carolina and Friends.
