Laserick Webster

December 16, 1960 — April 3, 2026

On Friday, April 3, 2026, God called His faithful servant, Laserik J. Webster, lovingly known

as “Zeke,” from labor to reward. Though our hearts are heavy with sorrow, we rejoice in

knowing that he now rests peacefully in the loving arms of the Lord.

Laserik was born on December 16, 1960, in Chicago, Illinois, to the proud parents of L.J.

Henry and Quillie D. Smith. From an early age, Laserik displayed strength, determination,

and a spirit that would carry him through life with grace and perseverance.

He received his education through the Chicago Public School system, attending Frederick

Douglass Elementary School before continuing on to Austin High School, where he proudly

earned his diploma.

Laserik was a hardworking and devoted man who began working at a very young age. His

dedication and commitment to excellence led him to a remarkable career at Rush University

Medical Center, formerly known as Rush Presbyterian Hospital, where he faithfully served

for 44 years before retiring.

Laserik enjoyed traveling, fishing, listening to music, admiring cars, and dining at his

favorite restaurant, Steak ’n Egger more than anything, he treasured his family and valued

every moment spent with loved ones.

Traveling to Mississippi, especially Carthage and Meridian, brought him great joy because

those places always felt like home.

Laserik was preceded in death by his beloved grandparents, Earl and Alberta Smith; his

mother, Quillie D. Smith; his father, L.J. Henry; brothers Larry Smith, Daniel Webster,

Gregory Webtser, and Marcus Webster ;sister Jackie Webster; son Laserik “Gaga” Webster;

grandson Daejon Laserick Webster; granddaughter Amirical; nephew Keith Johnson; and

Godparents Momma Lassie and Pap.

Laserik leaves to cherish his memories his loving children David Jones, Keyanna

Jones, Mark Jones, Lazenia, Richardson (Quentin), Maurshay Webster, Shante

Webster, Eric Carter, Kenyatta Toliver Quinten Williams Monique McNutt, Anita

McNutt, David Jones, all of Chicago, Illinois. His siblings Beverly Webster, Jean

Winston, Barbara Taylor, Regina Taylor and Darlene Williams all of Chicago, Illinois,

Joyce Webster, Denise Smith and Debra Ann Webster all of Carthage Mississippi. His

special lady friend Lisa Zavala.
