Born on October 18, 1985 in Chicago Illinois, Monett was the beloved Child of Shirley Wiley.
Throughout life, she exemplified, authenticity, resilience, faith, and unconditional love. Monett touched, countless lives through a generous heart, infectious life, and a spirit that made everyone feel welcomed.
Monett attended Wilbur Wright, College and Benedict University and dedicated 15+ years to a career as a nurse where she was respected not only for excellence and commitment, for compassion and integrity.
Family was the center of Monett's world. Whether gathered around the dinner table, or backyard, celebrating holidays, sharing laughter, or offering words of encouragement, she made every moment count. Her greatest joy came from loving and caring for family and friends.
Among her greatest passions were traveling with family and friends, sharing joy and peace to Queens smoke, hookah, dancing to her favorite songs, and a good old backyard barbecue. Monett believed in living with purpose, extending grace, to others, and leaving every place better than it was found.
Monett leaves to cherish, precious memories: her husband, Walter Temple; her beloved children, TraShawn Wiley-Temple and Malaysia Temple; Her Mother Shirley Wiley; Her siblings Darius Wiley, Andrea Wiley, and Jarese Wiley; Her nieces Cierra Wiley, TraNiyah Armstrong, Jabria Seaton, Chloe Thomas, and Treasure Clay; Her nephews Darius Wiley, TraVaughn Foster, Bruce seaton; Extended family, and a host of dear friends whose lives were forever enriched by knowing her.
She was preceded in death by cousin Angie, Cousin Shalonda, Aunt Merilyn, Aunt Rita, and Uncle Jerome.
Though our hearts are heavy with sorrow, we rejoice in knowing that Monett's legacy of love, strength, faith, and compassion will continue to live on through everyone she touched. While we mourn this earthly back, we find peace in God's promise that those who believe in him shall have everlasting life.
