Settina Arlean Luellen

Settina was born on a foggy, Sunday afternoon on March 22, 1981, to Arlean McKinney and Phillip Hansbrough, both who preceded her in death along with son Alijah Luellen. Settina was a longtime resident of Chicago, Illinois. She attended Chicago public schools and worked jobs that were close to home. Such as Chicago Public Schools in her community, Popeyes, and The Jewish Community Center. However, her most fulfilling job was to be at home taking care of the love of her life and their seven children.

Settina met her husband Alexander George Henry Luellen Jr. at the young age of 14. They married on January 3, 2000. They were married twenty-six of the thirty-one years they were together.

Settina was a Prolific singer and could match many of the singers out there today. However, she chose family over a career in the music industry, which she enjoyed more than anything. Settina could be persuaded to sing at different family functions and would often leave us in awe with the sweet sound of her voice. Not only did she sing, but she would keep the girls in the family's hair braided and styled, which was wonderful and gratefully appreciated.

She is gone much too soon, but the knowledge that she lived her life and enjoyed it to the fullest is comforting to all those who knew and loved her. She will be........ Deeply missed.

Settina slipped quietly away on August 14, 2026, at Thryve Nursing Home in Burbank, Illinois. She leaves to Cherish and hold her memories near and dear, her husband, Alexander Luellen Jr., Her children; Alexus Luellen, Alexandria Luellen, Andrew Luellen, Angelic Luellen, Adonis Luellen, Alyric Luellen; all of Chicago, Illinois; Yolanda Bella (Xetchna' Lahahn) Verner of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Sisters; Taisha Chatman of Milwaukee, Wisconsin and Melody (Donnie) Hansbrough of Minnesota, Grandchildren; Kamari, Justice, Journie, Asiyah, Zy' aire, Yashna, and Jammier. She also leaves a Mother-in-law; Drucilla (Rudolph) Williams of Lexington Mississippi; Father-in-law; George Henry (Evelina) Luellen of Lombard, Illinois; Brother-in-law, Warren (Kimberly) Luellen of Hobart, Indiana; Sister-in-law, Lila (Kiara) Cameron of Chicago, Illinois; and a mass of other family and friends.

Death leaves a broken heart that can never heal, but love leaves memories no one can steal.
