Sonia Teague

Sonia April Teague was born on April 23, 1965, to Virgil and Jacqueline (Jackie) Teague in Chicago, Illinois. She is the oldest of 7 children between her parents and she loved every bit of it.

Sonia attended Farragut High School where she graduated and took up cosmetology. She accepted Christ in her life when she became an adult.

Sonia could brighten up any mood. She loved to talk and go back down memory lane. If you knew her you knew she was about to say, "remember when momma," or

"sister, don't you remember them when we were little." Her favorite saying was "Lil girl don't make me jack you up"

Sonia was full of life she loved dancing, singing, and watching her movies. She loved to eat and please don't forget her snacks. She was the life of the party and lets not forget her love for her lottery tickets scratch off to be exact.

Sonia made sure you knew that she loved you no matter what. She was a beautiful person inside and out. Wherever she went everyone knew and loved her.

Sonia made her transition to God's eternal rest on Tuesday January 6, 2026.

Sonia is proceeded in death by her parents Virgil and Jackie, her granddaughter Jamiyah and her stepdaughter Monica.

Sonia leaves to cherish her memories 4 daughters: Takira (Amin), Candice, Sophia, and Valencia. 2 sons: Lavacea and Paris. Her grandchildren Brandon, Tavarion, Ashanti, Freddie, Emarion, Jahmelia, Jahniya, Lavacea Jr., Janiya, Kennedy, Chamar, Kristy, Savionne, Kaivon, Khyani, Carmelo, Carter, and her great-grandson Treyvon, Jr. Her sibling Teresa, Michelle, Vertrice, Virgil (Boompy, Aramius (Ray Ray), Virgil.

Her Stepchildren Doris, and Lonzo Jr. A host of nieces and nephews along with her best friend Kenya (lil momma) and childhood friend Robert.
