Sonya Coprice Franklin

Sonya Coprice Franklin was born February 2, 1984 to Melvin Anderson and Norma Franklin in Chicago Illinois.

Sonya attended George Manierre Elementary School and Lincoln Park High School.

Sonya was a very kind hearted person. She always showed up for her family when needed. She loved her siblings dearly.

She would always call her mom on Saturday morning just to talk to her niece (Broclynn).

One of Sonya's first jobs was babysitting her little cousins, Ashonti and Lynn Jr. She also worked for Walmart for over 16 years.

Some of the things she enjoyed most was playing, scratch off tickets, listening to music, also going to the boat from time to time.

God called Sonya's name and she answered on April 7, 2026. She made her transition to her heavenly home and there she was reunited with her father Melvin Sr., grandmother Dorothy, grandfather Roosevelt, uncle Raymond, Roger, Tony, and aunt Stephanie.

Sonya leaves to cherish her memory: her loving mother Norma (Timothy); for siblings, Michael, Chiquita, Tequila and Melvin Jr. Six Aunts: Elaine Anderson from Chicago; Dorletha and Karen from Mississippi, Sylvia, Yolanda (Herbert), and Audrey all from Chicago. Four Uncles: Anthony (Vonna), Clarence, Larry and Archie. And a host of nieces, nephews, family, friends, great aunts, uncles, and a special friend Brandon Johnson.
